Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Garnishments

  • Maintain litigation, claims, subpoena, administrative matter, and garnishment records.
  • Track and monitor response dates, discovery deadlines, hearings, settlements, and other critical litigation milestones.
  • Coordinate service of process and ensure timely completion of legal filings and responses.
  • Manage litigation holds, document preservation, collection efforts, discovery requests, and productions.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal business units, insurers, outside counsel, and third-party vendors.
  • Process wage garnishments and maintain related documentation and records.
  • Assist attorneys with case management, legal research, and preparation of materials related to ongoing litigation matters.

Employment & Human Resources Legal Support

  • Assist with employment-related claims, agency charges, demand letters, investigations, and legal inquiries.
  • Coordinate the collection, review, and organization of personnel files and employment-related records.
  • Maintain legal templates, separation agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, policy acknowledgments, and other employment-related documents.
  • Support immigration, benefits, compensation, and employee equity matters as needed.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and outside employment counsel to ensure timely responses and proper documentation.
  • Monitor employment-related legal matters and maintain accurate records and reporting.

Records Management & Compliance

  • Administer legal records retention, preservation, and destruction procedures in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate legal hold notices and maintain custodian acknowledgments and release documentation.
  • Support the collection, review, transfer, and production of electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Maintain legal databases and records management systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and document management initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience required.
  • Experience managing litigation files, discovery, subpoenas, and legal deadlines.
  • Knowledge of employment law, garnishments, and records management processes preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of legal document management and records retention practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting in-house legal departments.
  • Familiarity with employment law matters and HR-related legal support.
  • Knowledge of electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and ESI collection processes.
  • Experience processing garnishments and managing subpoena responses.
